FAQs
We’ve had some questions about the Green Design Summit that you might have as well. It is coming up on Monday, and if you’re on the fence, these answers will help you make up your mind.
This is the third summit, and our attendees are blown away by the depth of the material and the content that is provided. Just think, if you went to a conference and had to take time away from your schedule for travel, you wouldn’t receive all of these extra materials and all of the bonuses for such a reasonable price. Usually, you have to pay extra for the recordings or CD sets, and you don’t get them immediately.
1) Are there visuals or videos of the speakers? This is an audio program only. We do offer outlines that you can use to take notes either on your computer or by hand. Since the speakers are all over the US, the cost is prohibitive to do videos, and your class would be extremely expensive.
2) Can I get CEUs for the sessions? You can submit the information yourself, and if you are interested in getting the paperwork, the fee is $25 for us to provide it to you, and the organization you are submitting to may require an additional fee. It takes 10 – 12 weeks to get approval for classes to offer CEUs, and since we just finished the materials, there was not enough time to submit them before promoting the event.
3) Can I ask the speakers questions? The sessions are pre-recorded due to the speaker’s schedules. We do not have a live opportunity, but if you have particular questions after the event, you may send them to us and we will do our best to get an answer for you.
4) Where can I get information on LEED AP? You can go to www.usgbc.org and request information there. Also, one of our members who has her LEED AP recommends this resource for test preparation:

5) Do I have to listen to the summit during the two days “live?” That’s the beauty of the program. You can listen at your convenience. We have the live days so people will set aside the time to get their education, and follow-through. It helps many people who might “put it on the shelf” and forget about it. However, if your schedule doesn’t permit, you will have MP3 downloadable recordings and transcripts so you can listen any time. Just remember to download these by July 31, 2009.
6) How soon will I have access to download the MP3 recordings and transcripts? You will have access by July 6th. We will send you an email with a link to the page. We recommend “Down Them All” which is a free plug-in for Fire Fox. You can then download all of the materials with a click.
7) How do I listen to the sessions of the Summit? You can listen by webcast through your computer with your speakers or a headset. Or, you can call in although long distance charges apply.
Do you provide written material? Yes, we provide an outline for taking notes on each session. You can pull them up on your computer and fill in the blanks – your greenest option, or you can print them off and take notes and highlight them. You’ll also receive the transcripts on July 6th for the summit sessions. We will not be transcribing the bonus sessions.
9) Do I need to be on the live calls for the bonus sessions? No, you can wait for the recording a few days after each call. However, if you do want to ask Nancy or Mike questions, you’ll want to submit those ahead of time to info@designsuccessu.com and we will ask them during the Q & A.
10) When will I get the Marketing Done For You bonus materials? We’ll be sending the press release, talking points, marketing plan and blank forms on July 6th when we send you access to the downloads for the summit. We recommend that you take time before the session with Nancy to fill out the forms and marketing plan. Once Nancy answers your questions about messaging, Gail will stay on the line for additional questions about the marketing plan.
11) When will I receive the other bonuses? You will have access to those on the event pages that you will have access to on Sunday, June 28th.
12) What format are the recordings that you provide? We provide an MP3 download which will work for your computer or for your iPod or MP3 player. If you’re like some of us and don’t know how to download the recordings, if you have a teenager handy, you can pay them with a gift card to help you.
13) Some webcasts seem to have a time delay. Is there anything you can do about that? It is the nature of listening over the web and we are unable to control that delay.
14) Will I get the Marketing Done For You Bonus additions even though I signed up early? Yes. We want you to have the most possible value from this event, so everyone that attends will receive the enhanced bonus worth $1,000.
15) Will I get a list of resources? Yes, you will receive several resource lists. One will include all of the speaker’s resources that they mention during the interview.
16) Do I receive CDs, or do you offer them? You receive access to the downloads and you can burn your own CDs. We do not offer this service.
17) Do you offer other educational programs? Yes, a Gold Membership program is available which includes a Monthly Mentor call with an expert (recordings and transcripts included) $37 per month includes this as well as some new and enhanced features including a monthly marketing plan, a live Q & A with Gail Doby and the weekly Ezine with helpful information.
18) Do you offer a discount on the Green Design Summit? You can use the GDS2009 code to get $50 off of the already low price.
